Results of the “HOVORY” Marathon for High School Students

The project team met with the winners of the “HOVORY” marathon, presented gifts, and once again reminded everyone: speaking up is power.

For more than a month, high school students bravely and openly raised topics that are not always easy to voice: personal boundaries, the body, bullying, online safety, and the power of one’s voice. The marathon brought together more than 20 schools. We received almost 30 videos, and around 100 students participated — sincere, creative, motivated, and incredibly brave.

A special moment was the meeting with Oleksandra Pismichenko, a UCU student, influencer with a large audience, and international scholarship recipient. She shared her personal story and emphasized the importance of speaking openly, not being afraid to ask for help, and trusting your feelings.

Winners by safety category:

“My personal boundaries are my right” — Secondary School No. 99, Lviv

“My body is my private space” — Secondary School No. 31, Lviv

“Don’t stay silent — speak up” — Lyceum No. 93 and Secondary School No. 91, Lviv

“No place for bullying here” — Secondary School No. 13 and Lyceum No. 28, Lviv

“I have the right to be safe online” — Secondary School No. 47, Lviv

Additional nominations:

— For Creative Idea — Lyceum “Oriiana”, Lviv

— For Original Script — Lyceum No. 66, Lviv

— “SPEAKING UP is Power” — Secondary School No. 34, Lviv

All winners received gifts, and their videos will be included in the online course for high school students “Your Personal Safety.”

“These initiatives are not symbolic — they teach teenagers that the greatest strength lies in the ability to speak about themselves, their boundaries, and what hurts or worries them. When a child knows they will be heard, they become more confident, braver, and feel much more protected. That’s why it is so important for us to support such projects and create spaces where teenagers can freely speak about what matters.” says Nataliia Tarnovska, Head of Education Programs at the Child Dignity Center UCU and Manager of the “HOVORY” project.

We thank all schools, teachers, teenagers, and everyone who supported and inspired this initiative.
